President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to building a more productive, secure, and inclusive Nigeria as he hosted participants of Course 33 of the National Defence College at the State House, Abuja.
The President praised the participants for their patriotism and urged them to see themselves as key contributors to national development.
He emphasized that Nigeria must fully harness its human and material resources to drive industrialisation, strengthen security, and secure the future of generations yet unborn.
Tinubu also assured that his administration will strengthen defence institutions and produce well-trained strategic leaders capable of tackling emerging security challenges.
The NDC team presented a research report titled “Harnessing Indigenous Manufacturing for Enhanced National Security by 2040.” The President said the recommendations would be carefully reviewed, noting that strategic thinking, innovation, and industrial growth remain central to his Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Commandant, Rear Admiral A. Ahmed, briefed the President on the composition of Course 33, which includes officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, MDAs, and international participants from Africa, Asia, and South America.
The research team, which visited 23 countries, recommended stronger investment in infrastructure, support for DICON, product standardisation, and the implementation of Project Native 2040 to boost indigenous manufacturing for national security and development.
