Osun State — Ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, the Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke has intensified mobilisation efforts as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Faleke, a seasoned political strategist and grassroots mobiliser, has commenced engagements with prominent traditional, political and community leaders across the state in a bid to strengthen support for the APC ahead of the election.
On Saturday, Faleke visited two prominent APC leaders, the party’s founding National Chairman and revered elder statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, at his country home in Ila Orangun, and former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Adegboyega Oyetola, at his country home in Iragbiji.
Reflecting on the engagements, Faleke described the meetings as a privilege and honour, noting that the leaders’ wealth of experience, wisdom and contributions to the APC and the nation remain invaluable.
The mobilisation continued on Sunday with a visit to the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Kamis Tunde Badmus, at his residence in Osogbo, where Faleke and his team received what he described as valuable words of wisdom, guidance and elder statesman’s admonition.
The delegation thereafter proceeded to Iwo, where they were warmly received by the Oluwo of Iwo, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, the paramount ruler of Iwo.
Faleke expressed appreciation to the monarch for his support and encouraging words, particularly regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration.
With the APC campaign gathering momentum ahead of the August 15 poll, Faleke expressed confidence that the party would record a decisive victory in Iwo and across Osun State.
“Together, we move forward. Victory is assured!” Faleke declared.
The engagements underscore the APC National Campaign Council’s strategy of leveraging influential political, traditional and community leaders to consolidate support for Oyebamiji ahead of the governorship election.
