Sanwo-Olu Orders Crackdown on Vandals Over Festac–Alakija Bridge Attack

Governor Sanwo-Olu described the incident as “barbaric and criminal,” stressing that the Lagos State Government would not tolerate acts capable of compromising critical public infrastructure.

“Lagos will not tolerate any act of vandalism because it is barbaric and criminal,” the Governor said.

He disclosed that officials of the Office of Infrastructure had inspected the affected bridge and confirmed that its structural integrity remains intact. He added that remedial works would commence immediately to safeguard the bridge columns.

“Anyone who is found to be culpable in this horrendous, shameful and condemnable incident will surely face the law,” Sanwo-Olu warned.

The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting Lagos’ critical infrastructure, saying there was no place in the State for vandalism or deliberate attacks on public facilities.

He also urged Lagosians to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities around public infrastructure to the appropriate authorities.

The State Government assured residents that necessary measures would be taken to secure the bridge and prevent further damage.
