French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, have reportedly cooled-off the interests at signing Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman as well his compatriot, Victor Osimhen after striker Gonçalo Ramos underwent successful ankle surgery.
Ramos had sustained the injury in the 16th minute of PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Le Havre last Friday and the Portuguese forward is expected to be sidelined for approximately three months as he recovers.
Despite this setback, L’Equipe (via TMW)claimed that PSG do not plan to return to the transfer market to find a replacement for Ramos.
According to reports, manager Luis Enrique intends to utilize internal resources to cover Ramos’ absence, with Spanish forward Marco Asensio likely to see increased playing time.
This decision has significant implications for the Italian transfer market. It suggests that neither Victor Osimhen nor Ademola Lookman are currently targets for the Parisian club. Both Nigerian players have expressed interest in leaving their respective clubs, Napoli and Atalanta, but have not received satisfactory offers thus far.
PSG’s choice to rely on existing squad members rather than pursue high-profile replacements like Osimhen or Lookman demonstrates the club’s confidence in its current attacking options. It also leaves the door open for potential moves involving the Nigerian duo to other clubs as the transfer window progresses.
