OTCI Concludes Its Ideas Day Innovation Competition For Public Servants

The Office of Transformation, Creativity, and Innovation (OTCI) concluded its annual Innovation Competition, themed: “Generations in Sync: Harnessing Collective Strength for Public Service Innovation”. This exciting event showcased the exceptional talents and innovative ideas of public servants within the GL 8 to 16, focusing on critical issues facing our communities today.

The competition saw an impressive lineup of presentations tackling pressing challenges such as bullying, the Smart Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and the Ekoscrib AI platform specifically designed to enhance the efficiency of the Lagos State civil service. Each project highlighted the creativity and commitment of public servants to foster positive change and drive innovation within the public sector.

15 awards were presented during the event, recognising outstanding contributions from participants. Notable attendees included seven commissioners, seven permanent secretaries, and two heads of parastatals, who engaged with the innovative ideas and provided invaluable feedback to the presenters.

The awards recognised various categories, celebrating not only the most innovative solutions but also collaboration, feasibility, and potential impact on public service delivery. The enthusiasm for this initiative underscores the commitment of Lagos State to harness collective strengths in addressing the needs of its citizens through innovation.

“We are incredibly proud of the talent and creativity displayed by our public servants,” said Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, the Director-General of the Office of Transportation, Creativity and Innovation.

“This competition highlights the importance of collaboration and innovation in tackling the challenges we face. Together, we can create a more responsive and effective public service.”
