The Federal Government has paid tribute to late Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, with Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, visiting the actor’s family to convey President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s condolences.
Musawa, who represented the Federal Government and the Nigerian people, described Ogogo’s passing as a painful loss to his family, colleagues, millions of fans and the nation’s creative industry.
According to the Minister, the veteran actor’s remarkable career and commitment to Nigerian arts have secured his place in the country’s creative history, with his contributions continuing to inspire generations within Nollywood.
She conveyed President Tinubu’s deep condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the nation’s solidarity at the difficult moment.
“On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” Musawa said.
She prayed for strength and comfort for the family and eternal rest for the deceased, stressing that while Nigeria mourns Ogogo’s passing, the nation will continue to honour the legacy he built through his contribution to the Nigerian film industry.
