“Let us choose unity over division, peace over provocation, love over bitterness” — Agbelebu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Agege Constituency I, Hon. Oluwagbenga Michael Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, has called on his supporters, party members and followers to embrace peace, tolerance and reconciliation as political mobilisation gathers momentum in Agege.
In a message to his followers, Agbelebu appealed to all stakeholders to desist from insults, mockery, provocation and other forms of negative engagement, urging them to maintain civility and create an atmosphere conducive to reconciliation.
He said the time had come for members of the political family to sheath their swords, reach out to one another and work together for the collective interest of the people of Agege.
“Let us preach peace. Let us show love. Let us reach out. Let us create a friendly environment where reconciliation can happen naturally,” he stated.
The APC candidate also extended a hand of fellowship to individuals who may have felt offended by his aspirations, actions or inactions, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
“To everyone whom I may have wronged, knowingly or unknowingly, through my aspirations, actions or inactions, I sincerely appeal to you to sheath your swords,” he said, adding that whatever differences may exist should be resolved through dialogue and genuine reconciliation.
According to him, Agege belongs to everyone, irrespective of political opinions, interests or personal perspectives.
He urged residents and party members to tolerate and respect one another, stressing that love and unity remained essential to the progress of the constituency.
Agbelebu further explained that his political aspiration was not driven by the desire for a mere position or title, but by a personal conviction to serve humanity and contribute meaningfully to the development of Agege and its people.
“My greatest ambition is to serve. My greatest motivation is impact. My greatest responsibility is to the people,” he declared.
He therefore called on his supporters to make unity, peace, love and service the guiding principles of the campaign as the party moves into a broader mobilisation phase.
“Let us choose unity over division, peace over provocation, love over bitterness and service over self,” he urged.
Agbelebu expressed confidence that the APC would emerge stronger through collective effort, stressing the importance of maintaining party cohesion and speaking with one voice.
“Together, we can. We remain one party. We speak with one voice. We win together,” he said.
