In a renewed push to strengthen educational standards in Ikeja Federal Constituency, the Member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, James Abiodun Faleke, has commenced a comprehensive training programme for secondary school teachers.

The three-day capacity-building workshop, which began on February 24, 2026, focuses on two critical areas: the prevention and early detection of substance abuse among students, and the effective integration of technology to enhance classroom teaching and learning.
Participants were drawn from all 25 secondary schools across Ikeja Federal Constituency, ensuring broad-based representation and impact within the local education system.

The initiative is designed to equip teachers with practical skills to better understand students’ behavioural patterns, identify early warning signs of substance-related challenges, and deploy innovative digital tools to improve academic outcomes.
Faleke, who chairs the House Committee on Finance, reaffirmed his commitment to human capital development, describing teachers as central to building a strong and sustainable educational foundation. He noted that empowering educators remains a strategic investment in the future of the constituency.
The programme highlights the lawmaker’s continued focus on educational advancement and community development, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the initiative will yield long-term benefits for students, schools, and the wider Ikeja community.
