Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as Tuface, has appealed for calm as social media reactions continue to intensify over recent controversies involving him and his wife, Natasha Idibia.

In a widely circulated video, the award-winning artiste urged fans and the public to stop amplifying the situation, warning that the online frenzy was getting out of control and putting his wife at risk.

“This is getting out of hand. This is a dangerous situation right now,” he said. “I know what fans can do. I am perfectly okay, and this is putting Natasha at risk. It is not fair on anybody. Please, I need everybody to calm down — ceasefire. We will resolve these issues. People get issues for house no be today, but this is too much. Friends, family, everybody, ceasefire. I beg you. I did not make that post. Please, I am okay.”

Tuface distanced himself from a now-deleted post from an unfamiliar Instagram account in which he appeared to request help, insisting that he did not author the message and suggesting that the account had been compromised.

The situation escalated after reports emerged that the singer was briefly detained by UK police during his October tour following an alleged misunderstanding involving Natasha. A video purportedly showing his arrest triggered widespread speculation and concern among fans.

Tensions heightened further during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze, where two of Tuface’s former managers accused Natasha of attempting to assert full control over the singer’s personal and professional affairs. They alleged that she oversees his finances, manages his public engagements, and confirmed the previously denied UK incident.

Tuface later joined the live session visibly upset and demanded that discussions about his private life cease. The broadcast ended abruptly after a loud off-camera argument believed to be between the couple, fueling further speculation about a marital dispute.

Amid the unfolding drama, the Edo State House of Assembly has reportedly summoned Natasha—who represents the Egor constituency—to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee over her alleged conduct in the viral exchanges.
