The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye has urged teachers to be custodians of discipline and nation builders.

Mrs. Adekanye made the call at the official presentation of Awards to Facilitators and Winners of the Y2020 and Y2021 Mathematics competition among districts in Lagos State, organised by the Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ikorodu Zone.

Represented at the event by the Principal of Jagunmolu Girl’s Senior Grammar School, Mrs. Yetunde Jinmi-Ahinsu, the TG/PS described teachers as resourceful tools in building great minds and encouraged them to remain custodians of discipline, mentors to the pupils and nation builders.

She also commended the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration for the technological strides and other developments currently going on in the education sector of the State.

Similarly, the Director of the Mathematics Association of Nigeria, Ikorodu zone awards programme, Mr. Abiodun Olusola, commended the government’s efforts, through the Ministry of Education, in making sure that no child is left behind in terms of learning and enrolment in schools.

He also appreciated teachers, especially Mathematics teachers in the State, for painstakingly working towards the success of every child through their academics and social development.

Also speaking, the Coordinator, Mathematics Association of Nigeria, Ikorodu zone, Mrs. Fisayo Ajetumobi, stressed that the essence was convened to appreciate those that performed exceptionally in the competition as well as the facilitators for their contributions towards the success of the Association.
