It was learnt that Anigbajumo was impeached on Tuesday after a vote of no confidence by 5 out of the 7 legislators (councillors) of the Legislative Council.

The councillors approved former Deputy Leader Joel Olabode Adigun as the new leader of the legislative council.

Meanwhile, in a similar development, the majority leader of the Agege local government legislative council, Odejobi Kabiru, was also impeached and replaced with Hassan Alla.

A panel to investigate the allegation of gross misconduct against the former leader and majority leader has been inaugurated by the council legislators.

A reliable source close to the House in an exclusive phone chat with the news medium confirmed the move impeachment asserted that the action of the Councillors was purely legislative matter.

The impeachment move, the source close hinted that, it was raised by Hon. Alla and was supported by Hon. Alliu Nojeem Olohuntoyin.

It was gathered that pandemonium broke out after the impeachment which were repelled by the security personnel.
