SP Abimbola Adebisi commences Duty as Lagos Police Public Relations Officer

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has given his approval for the appointment of Superintendent of Police Abimbola Adebisi as the new Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State Command.

Adebisi is taking over the role from Benjamin Hundeyi, who was recently appointed as the Police Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters in Abuja.

As stated in a release issued on Monday by DSP Babasayi Oluseyi, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Adebisi will leverage her extensive academic, professional, and operational experience in her new role.

The newly appointed PPRO holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education, a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, and a Master of Arts in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria.

The statement further noted her professional training: “She has a Certificate in Child Protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Accra, Ghana, alongside certifications in Human Rights, Human Psychology, and Conflict Management. She has equally attended the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.”

SP Adebisi maintains a strong professional network as an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a member of various international organizations, including the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).

Her career has been marked by notable roles, such as Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, and Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit.

She previously held the position of Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja, prior to her current appointment.
