Lagos Hands Over Staff Housing Facility to Head of Service

The Lagos State Government has formally handed over Wing A of a newly completed staff housing edifice at Isale-Gangan, Lagos Island, to the Office of the Head of Service.

The Lagos State Government has formally handed over Wing A of a newly completed staff housing edifice at Isale-Gangan, Lagos Island, to the Office of the Head of Service.

The facility, comprising two- and three-bedroom flats, was presented on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, by the Special Adviser, E-GIS to the Governor, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, to the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro.

The housing project is designed to enhance the welfare and productivity of Lagos State public servants by providing quality accommodation in a conducive environment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Agoro expressed appreciation to former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for conceiving the project and to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for ensuring its completion. He noted that the facility would significantly boost staff morale and improve service delivery, assuring that it would be utilised strictly for its intended purpose.

Dr. Babatunde reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of public servants as part of broader public sector reforms.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, including the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. Sunkanmi Oyegbola; the General Manager of the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency, Dr. Oladimeji Animashaun; and the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, Bldr. Florence Gbaye, among other top functionaries.
