The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has officially presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) party flag to the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates for Ikeja local government council, Ojodu and Onigbongbo LCDAs, Hon Akeem Dauda / Hon Abisola Omisore, Hon Segun Odunmbaku/ Hon Kafayat Layeni and Hon Moyosore Adebanjo/ Hon Shamsideen Akerele respectively.

The three Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates within Ikeja Federal Constituency joined other APC candidates of the 57 councils in Lagos State in this event, signifying the party’s full endorsement and support for their candidacy ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.

The Lagos House, Marina, hosted a well-attended APC Stakeholders’ Meeting, convened by Governor Sanwo-Olu, which featured a flag presentation ceremony.

The meeting served as a vital convergence point for party leaders, aspirants, and stakeholders from across the state’s 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.
In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed the APC’s unwavering commitment to democratic values, progressive governance, and continuity in delivering dividends of democracy at the grassroots.

He charged all party candidates to remain focused, people-oriented, and results-driven in their campaigns and eventual service.
The event also marked the formal launch of the APC campaign for the July 12, 2025, local government elections, aiming to consolidate the party’s strong presence across the state by mobilizing support for all APC candidates and reinforcing its leadership in local council governance.

Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, stressed the importance of the party’s candidates for the 2025 local government elections living in their constituencies if elected on July 12, 2025.
According to Ojelabi, council chairmen who reside outside their local government areas will face sanctions.
He emphasized that serving the people effectively requires a profound understanding of their needs, which can only be achieved through physical presence and accessibility within the constituency.
Ojelabi underscored the vital role council chairmen play in overseeing local government affairs and contributing to statewide development in areas such as education, health, and agriculture.

The APC Chairmanship candidate for Ikeja Local Government Council, Hon. Akeem Dauda in a chat with Lagos Panorama at the event, expressed his deepest gratitude to the party leadership, notably President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke, and the party leadership, for entrusting him with leadership. He pledged to work assiduously with his running mate, Hon. Abisola Omisore, to actualize President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope mantra and Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Agenda, striving for a more prosperous and inclusive Ikeja Local Government Council.

The event was attended by party stalwarts, elected representatives, council chairmen, and supporters who pledged loyalty and commitment to securing the APC’s victory at the polls.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and a shared vision for progress and stability in local administration.
With the July 12 elections approaching, the symbolic presentation of the APC flag has further galvanized the campaign of Hon Akeem Dauda and his running mate Hon Abisola Omisore, positioning them as the front-runners in Ikeja local government, following a series of endorsements from prominent stakeholders including traditional leaders, Community Development Association, CDA, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, National Youth Council NYC, and many more.
