“We have been in Lagos for days,” he said. “We monitored the ward congresses on Wednesday and returned on Saturday to observe the local government congresses across many parts of the state. What we witnessed was remarkable.”May be an image of one or more people

According to him, the uniqueness of Lagos was evident in the meticulous preparations put in place before the arrival of the national committee, which significantly simplified the monitoring process. He praised the local organising committees for what he termed a “wonderful job,” noting that there were no incidents of violence in any of the locations visited.May be an image of one or more people

“Everywhere we went, both at the ward and local government levels, the atmosphere was carnival-like — almost festive. The candidates conducted themselves in line with the party’s constitutional provisions, and arrangements were made strictly in accordance with established guidelines,” he said.

The chairman added that members of the committee from Abuja were thorough in their oversight responsibilities and ensured that no aspect of the party’s regulations was overlooked.May be an image of one or more people, dais and text

“For the record, I have not seen a congress as peaceful as what we witnessed in Lagos State. The delegates, aspirants and party faithful conducted themselves with maturity and discipline,” he stated.

He further disclosed that the national team would be returning to Abuja with valuable lessons from the Lagos experience.

“We did not come here merely to supervise; we came to learn. The way Lagos APC has organised itself and deepened internal democracy is commendable. Each of us is leaving with insights that will help strengthen our democratic structures and internal mechanisms back home,” he said.

Describing the outcome of the exercise as a significant milestone, the chairman noted that what emerged from the congresses was “a strong, united and formidable party structure ready to consolidate and expand its political foothold.”

He urged party members to sustain the unity and discipline displayed during the exercise, emphasising that the peaceful conduct of the congresses would further reinforce the APC’s standing in Lagos State and across the federation.
