Year 2022 Bursaries And Scholarships In Eti-Osa LG: Saheed Awards 200 Bursary Beneficiaries and 3 Scholarships

Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole-led administration has consistently been viewed as setting the pace while others follow. Such is the case with the continuous bursary awards to indigent and non-indigent students of the eti-osa local government. The Executive Chairman was ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Omooba Adeola Adetoro Adeyanju who also doubles as the supervisor for Education. She gave the welcome address and also directed the beneficiaries to give a standing ovation to an excellent leader with the tenets of equity and fairness.

She congratulated the recipients, most especially the scholarship awardees who received the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira this year for best academic performances. She urged every student to strive to do better because they are laying the foundation for a brighter future.

This year, 200 bursary beneficiaries were given the sum of #20,000 naira each, while the sum of #250,000 was given as a scholarship to 3 beneficiaries with excellent academic performances. Interestingly One of the scholarship beneficiaries has remained consistent for some years now keeping her grades high, Miss Hikmat Maiyegun, a final year Medical Surgery Student at the Lagos State University College of Medicine. She expressed her gratitude to the Chairman and his able Vice for always supporting her dream and she promised to give back to society from her wealth of knowledge when the time comes.

The Chairman of the Bursary Awards Committee, Alhaji Tajudeen Olukolu also gave a word of encouragement to all the students, charging them to aim at being scholarship recipients also by focusing on their studies and avoiding unnecessary distractions.

The vote of thanks was given by My Jubril Olasupo, the President of the Eti-Osa Indigenous Students Association.

Notably present at the occasion were the Leader of the house Hon. Muftau Bolaji Ogundero and other Members of the Legislative Council. Members of the Executive council, Special Advisers and Senior Special advisers happily cheered the recipients who all fall into the various wards they represent.
