Ojodu LCDA holds public hearing on proposed bye-laws

The Legislative arm of Ojodu Local Council Development held a public hearing to deliberate on a series of proposed bye-laws for the benefit of the masses on Tuesday 22nd February.

The Legislative arm of Ojodu Local Council Development held a public hearing to deliberate on a series of proposed bye-laws for the benefit of the masses on Tuesday 22nd February.

The leader of the House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira, led other legislators of the Council to brainstorm with the masses on bye-laws regarding Point of Sale (POS) licenses, Establishment and maintenance of warehouse/distributors Outlet, truck permits, Street naming/renewal and construction development levy.

In his address, the Leader, Hon. Opeyemi noted that the exercise is crucial to the success of grassroots governance and it is a move towards the betterment of the masses in all ramifications.

“It is pertinent to state that the success of governance at the grassroots depends largely on law-making” Opeyemi said.

Likewise while giving his address, the Executive Chairman, Hon. David Odunmbaku reiterated the efforts of his administration towards developing the LCDA through his HEYS Agenda (Health, Education, Youths & Women Empowerment, and Social Infrastructure) without resting on his oars.

Odunmbaku addressed several issues bordering on the security of the communities, market development, indiscriminate erection of street gates without adequate permission, the building of link bridges for easy commuting in the LCDA (with necessary collaboration with neighbouring local governments).

The public hearing witnessed contributions from the participants who expressed satisfaction with the openness and inclusiveness in governance, as solutions were also proffered to the teaming challenges by the legislators.

Also present at the hearing were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, legislators; Deputy Leader Hon. Gbenga Opebi, Majority Leader Hon. Bolarinwa Lawal, Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Kazeem Iyanda, Chief Whip Hon. Olumide Akinade, Deputy Chief Whip Hon. Lekan Peters, Management Staff and stakeholders in Ojodu LCDA communities.
