On the 9th of August 2021, 422 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

Till date, 178508 cases have been confirmed, 165983 cases have been discharged and 2192 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 422 new cases are reported from 9 states- Lagos (190), Rivers (86), Ogun (85), Oyo (22), FCT (20), Kwara (7), Edo (5), Abia (4), and Bayelsa (3)

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities
