The Red Devils are set for a busy summer having already concluded the long, drawn-out transfer of Jadon Sancho and look to expand in at least two more positions.

That would ultimately mean certain players may not play as much, opening the door for them to leave.

Here are four names that could be on their way out of Old Trafford this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side look to balance their squad.

Andreas Pereira

Andreas Pereira has largely been out of favour in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, especially since the signing of Bruno Fernandes in January 2020.

Pereira spent last season on loan at Lazio and while the Serie A side were keen on bringing him back again, Manchester United wanted a permanent transfer, which never materialized.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United and did well, even earning a spot in the preliminary squad for England’s Euro 2020 campaign.

In the first half of the season, though, he rarely featured for Manchester United and that is unlikely to change, with West Ham showing interest in the player again but unwilling to fork out a reported £30m to sign him.

Other clubs have shown interest, with Atletico Madrid the latest name linked, and this transfer saga is probably going to stretch into the final weeks of the window.

Diogo Dalot

Like Lingard and Pereira, Diogo Dalot spent time away on loan in the last season too, going to Milan in Serie A, where he helped the club to a top-four finish.

Milan’s Paolo Maldini has admitted interest in bringing Dalot back to the club and once again, United want to sell permanently rather than loan him out.

There have also reportedly been interest from Real Madrid, but any move down that line seems unlikely and United will want to sell considering he’s hardly in Solskjaer’s plans.

Alex Telles

Telles was signed to provide competition to Luke Shaw and while he has done that in one sense, it’s clear he’s the second choice to a vastly improved Shaw.

Having joined from Porto last season, Telles has rarely been given chances in the first-team with Solskjaer unable to drop Shaw because of his fine form for club and country.

Jose Mourinho’s Roma have shown interest in Telles having lost the impressive Leonardo Spinazzola to a long-term injury, and a move is possible.
