Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria dies in Abuja

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the sudden death of Hon Dr. Ambassador Wilfred Machage, Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria who is also accredited to 12 other countries in Central and Western Africa. The death occurred in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the sudden death of Hon Dr. Ambassador Wilfred Machage, Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria who is also accredited to 12 other countries in Central and Western Africa. The death occurred in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Ambassador Machage  is said to have collapsed at home and was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly thereafter at around 12.30pm  in Abuja, Nigeria.

The statement said the High Commissioner’s wife was with him when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Confirming the passing of Amb. Machage, the Principal SecretaryAmbassador Macharia Kamau said the Ministry, and the country had lost a dedicated and committed leader.

Ambassador Machage was appointed High Commissioner to Abuja, Nigeria by President Uhuru Kenyatta in January 2018.
