In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), expressed appreciation to residents for their consistent engagement throughout the three-day exercise. He emphasized that the budgetary process in Ikeja is people-oriented and reflective of citizens’ aspirations.

“We are building a new culture of governance in Ikeja — one that listens, consults, and acts in the best interest of our people. Through the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, we are shaping a 2026 budget that will truly deliver Better Days to every resident,” AKOD stated.

The Chairman also lauded the Budget and Economic Planning Department for pioneering the ward-to-ward consultation model — a first of its kind in Lagos State — ensuring that no community is left out of the decision-making process.

The Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon Abisola Omisore who hails from Ward F, attended the session alongside the Councillor, Hon Ganiyu Lawal, the Baale of Alausa, High-Chief Toyin Badmus and leaders of various Community Development Associations (CDAs). In his address, the Vice Chairman commended residents for their active participation and unity, describing the initiative as a true model of people-driven governance.

“What we are witnessing under this administration is genuine inclusion — a leadership that listens, values feedback, and translates it into action. This is the essence of the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA,” he said.

Also speaking earlier at the Ward E session, the Councillor representing the Ward and Deputy Majority Leader of the Ikeja Legislative Council, Hon. Babatunde Adefolami, on behalf of residents of Sanu Street and the Seriki Aro CDA, expressed gratitude to the Council Chairman for the reconstruction of Sanu Street within his first 100 days in office. He described the project as a testament to responsive leadership and assured residents that it signaled better days ahead for the community.

Participants praised the initiative as a commendable example of participatory governance and a reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots.
