In a statement released on Friday, May 1, Ojelabi said Workers’ Day remains a significant occasion to honour the contributions, sacrifices, and achievements of labourers, while reinforcing the need for fair and dignified labour practices.

He commended Lagos workers for their dedication and steadfast commitment, noting that their efforts have sustained the state’s reputation as a vibrant and progressive hub.

“Workers are the lifeblood of Lagos. Your hard work and resilience continue to keep the state moving and thriving as a symbol of dynamism and promise,” he said.

Ojelabi highlighted the role of workers in national development, aligning their contributions with the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He noted that their combined efforts have helped position Lagos as a beacon of progress and national pride.

Reaffirming the APC-led government’s commitment to workers’ welfare, the party chairman assured that policies would continue to prioritise prompt payment of wages and adherence to global labour standards.

He further praised youths, women, and men across the workforce for their unwavering belief in progress and nation-building, describing their contributions as invaluable to the economy and society.

Ojelabi expressed optimism about the future, urging continued unity and dedication toward building a more prosperous Lagos and a stronger Nigeria.
