How The Sustainable Development Goals Are Powering Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has affirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is not only transforming Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape but also aligns seamlessly with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to the party, what the global community defines as shared aspirations, President Tinubu is translating into tangible, homegrown realities that are reshaping the nation’s development trajectory.

From inception, the administration has pursued an ambitious reform agenda rooted in the SDGs’ core principle — to leave no one behind. Through inclusive policies that empower citizens, strengthen institutions, and stimulate economic growth, the President is laying a solid foundation for a sustainable, prosperous, and equitable Nigeria.

Under SDG 1: No Poverty, millions of Nigerians are being supported through the Renewed Hope Conditional Grant Scheme, the Student Loan Programme, and targeted social investment initiatives designed to lift families out of economic hardship. The APC emphasized that these are not mere welfare handouts, but strategic measures aimed at fostering self-reliance and productivity.

In line with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, the administration’s focus on industrial revitalization, job creation, and investment attraction has restored global confidence in Nigeria’s economy. From emerging technology hubs to manufacturing clusters, the Tinubu government is creating an enabling environment where innovation flourishes and enterprises thrive.

Similarly, the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Drive — including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, modern rail projects, and expanded port facilities — exemplifies SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, promoting interconnectivity, trade facilitation, and national productivity.

On SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, the administration’s commitment to technical and vocational training, alongside investments in renewable energy, is equipping Nigerian youth for the challenges of the future while ensuring access to reliable power for homes and industries.

The party noted that what previous administrations regarded as mere rhetoric, President Tinubu has transformed into measurable action. His development philosophy, it said, is deliberate, structured, and visionary — evidence that Nigeria can achieve global standards without compromising national priorities.

The Lagos APC therefore called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for the President’s transformative leadership, stressing that sustainable development demands courage, consistency, and conviction — all of which President Tinubu has demonstrated in abundance.

> “Those who still fail to see the wisdom in these reforms are either blinded by politics or confined by the comfort of old failures. The truth is that Nigeria is finally on a path of genuine, sustainable progress — one where growth is inclusive, opportunities are real, and the future is bright,”

said Hon. Seye Oladejo, Lagos APC Spokesman.
