The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, recently met with the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 8-point agenda.

The Ministry of Finance disclosed this in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday after Edun and Adeniyi discussed the NCS’ strategy for the alignment.

“They discussed the NCS’ strategy for alignment with the President’s 8-point agenda, including the all-important national single window implementation,” the Ministry of Finance posted.

President Tinubu in August unveiled an eight-point agenda which he said was meant to turn around the economy of the country and make life comfortable for all Nigerians.

Edun presented the “Roadmap for the Economy”, which was taken into consideration at the maiden Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that was held in Abuja on August 28, 2023.

According to Edun, the 8-point agenda includes food security, ending poverty, economic growth and job creation, access to capital and improving security.

Others are improving the playing field on which people and particularly companies operate, rule of law and fighting corruption.

The Minister of Finance also pointed out that the FEC examined the eight priority areas and spoke about the targets to deliver in the next three years.
