Agege, Lagos – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Agege Constituency I, Hon. Gbenga Abiola (Agbelebu), has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Hon. Haruna Ilerika, fondly known as “God Father,” following his passing after a brief illness.
Hon. Ilerika died on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service to the APC and the Agege community.
Hon. Abiola was accompanied by party stalwarts, community leaders, and members of the Agbelebu Solidarity Forum as they joined the bereaved family, friends, and party faithful in mourning the loss of one of the party’s respected grassroots leaders.
Describing the deceased as a loyal and committed party man, Hon. Abiola said Hon. Ilerika’s unwavering dedication to the ideals of the APC and his selfless contributions to the growth and development of his community earned him widespread admiration and respect.
During the visit, the APC House of Assembly candidate extended his heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s wives, children, and the entire Ilerika family, praying that Almighty God grants them the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
He also joined family members and supporters in offering prayers for the peaceful repose of the late party stalwart’s soul, assuring the family of his continued support and reminding them that they are not alone during this difficult period.
Hon. Abiola expressed appreciation to residents, party faithful, and community members who came out to receive the delegation, describing their show of solidarity as a reflection of the late Hon. Ilerika’s enduring impact on the community.
He prayed that Almighty God grants Hon. Haruna Ilerika eternal rest and gives his family the courage and grace to carry on while preserving the remarkable legacy he left behind.
