Faleke Pushes Fiscal Accountability as House Committee Reviews Customs, CAC Revenue

James Abiodun Faleke, on Wednesday participated in the Second Quarter Revenue Monitoring Session of the House Committee on Finance, aimed at strengthening accountability and transparency in federal revenue generation.

Sharing updates from the exercise on his official Facebook page, Faleke disclosed that the Committee commenced its Second Quarter Revenue Monitoring Session with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government.

According to the Chairman House Committee on Finance, the exercise is focused on assessing the revenue performance of government agencies, reviewing the amount of revenue generated, and evaluating remittances made into the Federation Account in line with their statutory obligations.

He added that the opening session featured presentations by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), with both agencies briefing the Committee on their revenue performance and remittances.

The quarterly monitoring exercise forms part of the House of Representatives’ oversight responsibilities to ensure government agencies comply with revenue laws, improve accountability, and enhance remittances to the Federation Account in support of Nigeria’s fiscal stability.
