Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly preparing a summer move for Victor Osimhen as the club seeks a long-term replacement for veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
According to reports, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has identified the Nigerian international as a priority signing ahead of the next transfer window, with Lewandowski’s contract expected to expire at the end of the season.
The interest in the Super Eagles striker comes amid fresh comments from Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek, who insisted that the player’s contract with the Turkish champions contains no release clause.
“There is no release clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful footballer who will serve Galatasaray for many years,” Ozbek said in an interview with Fanatik.
The Nigerian forward, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most lethal strikers, is under contract with the Istanbul club until June 2029. Although the deal does not include a fixed buyout clause, reports suggest Galatasaray value the striker at around €150 million.
The club had earlier paid about €75 million to complete Osimhen’s permanent transfer from SSC Napoli in 2025 after he initially joined the Turkish side on loan in September 2024.
Since arriving in Turkey, the 27-year-old has enjoyed an impressive run of form, scoring 53 goals in 65 appearances across all competitions and cementing his status as one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.
Former Barcelona and France striker Thierry Henry recently endorsed the Nigerian star, stating that the Catalan club would benefit from signing a top-level striker like Osimhen.
Despite reported interest from several European heavyweights, including Juventus and Bayern Munich, Galatasaray maintain that the prolific forward remains central to their long-term plans.
