The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended Christmas greetings to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, describing the 2025 yuletide as a moment for reflection, gratitude and renewed confidence in the nation’s future.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesman, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, the party said Christmas 2025 finds Nigeria “tested and pressured, yet unbroken,” despite the economic, security and structural challenges faced in the outgoing year.
According to the APC, the past year demanded resilience and patience from both citizens and government, as the country navigated what it described as difficult but necessary transitions amid global economic headwinds and inherited structural distortions.
The statement noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confronted these challenges directly through policy reforms and governance measures aimed at stabilising the economy and strengthening national institutions.
The Lagos APC said that contrary to dire predictions made by critics, Nigeria remained stable, with democratic institutions holding firm and early signs of economic recovery beginning to emerge. It also highlighted what it described as strategic gains by security agencies, despite ongoing pressures and misinformation.
“This Christmas is not only a celebration of faith, but also a reminder of Nigeria’s enduring resilience,” the statement said, adding that the nation had once again demonstrated its capacity to withstand adversity.
The party urged Nigerians to use the festive season to reject cynicism and despair, and to recommit themselves to nation-building, stressing that political differences should not undermine patriotism or national unity.
According to the statement, while reforms may be challenging, they are essential for long-term progress and national development.
“As Nigerians gather with their families this Christmas, we call for renewed hope, unity and faith in our collective destiny,” the APC said, expressing optimism about the country’s future.
The party concluded by wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas and expressing confidence that a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria lies ahead.
