The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Council, Engr Mojeed Alabi Balogun, has convened a budget consultative meeting with stakeholders to identify key concerns of residents.

Engr Balogun expressed his gratitude in his opening remarks to all who have supported his administration from inception to date.

He highlighted that several sustainable development projects have been accomplished under his administration and noted that the essence of the budget consultative meeting is to ascertain the pressing needs of the people, thereby facilitating the preparation of a people-oriented budget by the executive during their budget retreat.

During the meeting, the two-term Council boss advised Ward representatives to focus on key issues and share meaningful suggestions as the Council develops its budget for 2025.

Dr (Mrs) Yemisi Razak, Director of Planning, Budget and Research, emphasized that the essence of the Budget consultative meeting is to analyze the impact of the previous year’s projects and activities of the Council, and pinpoint the critical needs of the people for the forthcoming year’s budget.

She pointed out that the Chairman, an engineer by profession, attaches great importance to infrastructure development due to his background, and therefore believes he will reinforce his achievements before his tenure expires.

The Chairman CDC Ikeja Alhaja Taiba Adefolami stated that the Chairman is a responsive leader and an indigene of Ikeja so the needs of the people are of great importance to him.

The residents from each of the six wards presented their respective needs one after the other.

Also in attendance were all the Executive and Management staff and the Local Government Legislatures, led by the Leader, Hon. Adenuga Ayotunde.
