West Ham United and Manchester United have agreed in principle to sign defender Harry Maguire.

SkySports reports that the verbal agreement is subject to finalisation; important details on the transaction structure are still being discussed, but the amount has been agreed upon.

The acquisition is likely to cost around £30 million.

Maguire joined United in 2019 for a reported £80 million, a world record for a defender, and was named club captain within six months.

Earlier in the window, a £20 million opening bid for Maguire was also rejected.

He has made 219 appearances for the EFL Cup champions, scoring 11 goals.
