The lawmakers are Francis Fadahunsi, Olubiyi Fadeyi, Oluwole Oke, Taofeek Ajilesoro, and Omirin Olusanya.

They announced their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Accord Party to the APC at a well-attended event held at Freedom Park in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. The lawmakers were joined by thousands of their supporters.

Also formally received into the APC was former Senator Adelere Adeyemi Oriolowo, who represented Osun West Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly. Oriolowo had previously parted ways with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the Osun Progressives (TOP) movement.
