Lagos APC Hails South East Realignment: “A Handshake Across the Niger — Building Bridges, Breaking Boundaries”
By Lagos Panorama News Desk
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded what it described as a “historic political realignment” unfolding in the South East, marking a new era of inclusion, vision, and national cohesion.
In a statement signed by the party’s spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said the South East’s growing embrace of the ruling party represents “not just a symbolic handshake across the Niger, but a decisive step toward unity, progress, and shared prosperity.”
According to Oladejo, decades of emotional politics and opposition posturing had kept the South East on the periphery of national power, but the tide is now turning as the region begins to align with the APC’s vision of inclusive governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Meaningful participation in governance, not sterile opposition, is the true path to regional and national advancement,” he noted. “The Renewed Hope Agenda offers every zone an opportunity to flourish under a government committed to fairness, opportunity, and inclusiveness.”
Oladejo emphasized that by joining the national mainstream, the South East is positioning itself “at the table where decisions are made, not outside where complaints echo without consequence.” He described this shift as “politics of maturity and vision — a bold embrace of shared destiny.”
The statement contrasted the APC’s unity with the deepening crises within opposition parties, describing the PDP as “leaderless, rudderless, and adrift,” while dismissing the Labour Party as a “social media phenomenon that lost steam due to lack of structure and internal cohesion.”
“While the APC builds bridges across regions, the opposition continues to burn what’s left of theirs,” Oladejo remarked.
He asserted that the APC remains the only credible platform for stability and national development, adding that the 2027 elections would reflect a clear contrast between “a united, purposeful ruling party and a divided, disoriented opposition still trying to remember what it stands for.”
The Lagos APC concluded by commending South East leaders who have chosen partnership over protest, development over division, and progress over propaganda.
“Together, we are building bridges, breaking boundaries, and securing Nigeria’s future — one handshake at a time,” the statement affirmed.
