Lagos Council Elections: Segun Odunmbaku flags off campaign, unveils manifesto for a sustainable development Ojodu LCDA

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) Chairmanship candidate for Ojodu LCDA in the forthcoming 24th July Lagos Council Elections, Hon David Olusegun Odunmbaku, otherwise known as DOS, has formally flagged of his campaign for the plum job of the LCDA on Wednesday at the Ogba bus-Stop.

Hon. Odunmbaku used the occasion to unveiled his campaign manifesto for quality governance, avows his keen interest in the sustainable development projects across Ojodu LCDA

DOS averred that ” my experience in governance at the local government level, as a former Secretary at Ikeja Local Government and currently at Ojodu LCDA will be of immense advantage to the quality service delivery of our administration”.

“Apart from that, my passion and love for the people which runs in my family, more so, the right foundation I’m privileged to have both in terms of educational trajectory and experience to take on the challenges of modern-day governance will aid my excellent performance in office”

“At the moment, a statutory 70 percent of the council budget goes to capital projects and we do not intend to go lower but higher. We have in out plans, social intervention programmes designed to meet the specific needs of our people in Ojodu LCDA, especially the senior citizens, youths, women, budding entrepreneurs, and even those that are employed yet interested in acquiring additional skills. These are the categories of persons who will heavily benefit from our social intervention initiatives”.

“In concordance with the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of our Indefatigable Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s state government, we have the plans to collaborate with the State Ministry of Transportation to help upgrade three major park at Ojodu Berger, Grammar School and Ogba. We want to build on what has been done to create local economy around the motor parks by pushing people to the three clusters,” Odunmbaku said.

“Health and environment are intertwined and as such we will do our possible best to manage our environment in line with the policies of the state government to safeguard the health of citizens and Ojodu residents. We will work on better roads, more schools, more public health facilities, and so forth. I mean, the infrastructure in Ojodu must be topnotch so that the council becomes a reference point for people coming from outside the council and by extension the state” he said.

“In terms of agriculture, our initiative will be a landmark because it our strong believe that the way to go for our youths is agriculture and how to get our youths interested in the business of agriculture and agricultural value-chain. We will invent modern ideas that are technology-driven and make agriculture a viable venture for youths. We also plan to engage in massive feed subsidy like Ojodu Mart, where agricultural produce are subsidized for the less privileged in the community.”.

The son of the charismatic APC Lagos erstwhile Deputy State Chairman and a current member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), cardinal James Odunmbaku, opined that, nowadays, many youths are attached to their mobile phones more than ever. With such drift, we can get our youths interested in ICT by providing revolving funds to enhance their ICT entrepreneur capacity and economically empower them” Odumbaku avowed.

In his concluding statement, Odunmbaku advised all residents of Ojodu LCDA to follow government guidelines on the coronavirus pandemic that’s ravaging the world.

“Third wave of COVID-19 is here, we must continue to follow government protocols on the pandemic. He further admonished that the newly discovered Delta variant in circulation is more dangerous and we all must take necessary precautions to avert contact.”

The seating Executive Chairman Ojodu LCDA Hon. Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro appealed to party members to eschew discord and work in accord for the emergence of the party’s candidate come 24th.

Hon. Oloro solicited for massive campaign and vote for all APC candidates which includes the Chaiman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, Vice-Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi and all the Councillors across the six (6) wards of the local council. He urged for cooperation ahead of the council election to be conducted by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) across the state.

Oloro in his humble remark declared that all party members should henceforth commence radical door-to-door campaign for the party candidates as he assures all residents of ojodu LCDA of better days ahead in the next administration under the leadership of his hopeful successor – DOS.
