Security Guard convicted for stealing forfeited property in Kaduna

Justice A. A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kaduna has convicted and sentenced one Abdul_Bari Yakubu to two years imprisonment on one count charge bordering on dealing in forfeited property.

Justice A. A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kaduna has convicted and sentenced one Abdul-Bari Yakubu to two years imprisonment on one count charge bordering on dealing in forfeited property.

The defendant, a former personnel of Kaduna State Vigilance Service, KADVS, was arrested by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 13, 2023, after he allegedly stole a 34″ Samsung Television set from Halal Fountain Hotel Annex, a property under interim forfeiture.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

Justice Bello convicted and sentenced him to two years imprisonment or a fine of N160,000.00.
