The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged Lagosians to embrace peace, harmony and reject any dangerous doctrine capable of undermining the security situation in the State.
Sanwo-Olu made the appeal while speaking at the Diamond Jubilee anniversary of the C & S Oke Ayo Irapada Gospel Church’s Orile-Iganmu Headquarters, enjoining the congregation to shun all purveyors of falsehood and religious bigots, just as they avoid intrigue that could wreak any havoc in the society.
The Governor, represented at the event by his Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, Prince Bayo Osiyemi, gave an assurance that he would continue to deliver on his campaign promises across the State, imploring adherents to support his administration so that Lagos State remains a peaceful, secure and progressive State.
He promised that the State government will soon complete the ongoing Light Rail construction, running through Orile-Iganmu from Marina to Okokomaiko, and other developmental projects in the axis, appealing to the residents to cooperate with his administration to ensure that all the infrastructures are completed on schedule without any disturbance.
Mr. Governor also recalled the story of the Church, describing it as one that was full of challenges, tribulations and triumphs, praising its founding fathers for standing against the practice that did not conform to the teachings of Christ and the worship of God.
The Supreme Head of the C&S Unification Church, His Most Eminence, Dr. Solomon. A. Alao, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his result-oriented administration and expressed total support for his re-election in the forthcoming Y2023 General Elections.
The Head of the Church, His Eminence, Apostle Olorunfunmi Basorun, thanked the Governor for his support to religious bodies across the State and advised all members of the Church to keep faith with the Covenant of God while adhering to the teachings of Christ.
