Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday played host to traditional rulers from across the country as Lagos hosted the National Executive Council meeting of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN).
The high-level gathering brought together royal fathers from different parts of Nigeria to deliberate on issues of national unity, peace, and grassroots development.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Governor Sanwo-Olu underscored the critical role of traditional rulers in maintaining harmony and driving progress across communities.
“Our royal fathers are connected to the heartbeat of our communities. They are custodians of culture and vital partners in peace, unity, and nation-building,” the Governor said.
He further emphasized the need to enhance the constitutional role of traditional institutions in governance, noting that their influence and wisdom remain key to conflict resolution and grassroots development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu called for collective commitment to building “a Nigeria that is just, peaceful, and united,” reaffirming Lagos State’s readiness to continue serving as a hub for dialogue, inclusivity, and national cohesion.
