Sanwo-Olu Celebrates Sir Kessington Adebutu At 90

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has felicitated business mogul and iconic philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu, CON, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, on the joyous occasion of his 90th birthday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu joined eminent personalities, family, friends, and associates at the grand 90th Birthday Reception held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, on Friday, to honour the Chairman of Premier Lotto Limited for his enduring legacy of service, generosity, and enterprise.

Speaking at the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as the Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, described Sir Adebutu as “a national treasure and a respected elder statesman whose life embodies hard work, integrity, and compassion.”

He said: “On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I heartily congratulate the business icon and philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, on attaining the remarkable age of 90. His life is a shining example of diligence, enterprise, and generosity.”

The Governor lauded Sir Adebutu’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth through his leadership of Premier Lotto, which has provided employment, sustained families, and supported national development.

He added that beyond business, Sir Adebutu’s unwavering commitment to philanthropy has transformed countless lives across the country, particularly in his hometown, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, where his charitable gestures have uplifted communities in education, healthcare, sports, and religion.

Sanwo-Olu further commended the nonagenarian for his role in promoting good governance, strengthening democracy, and fostering unity and peace in Nigeria over several decades.

“Sir Kessington Adebutu is an exemplary leader and role model whose humility and generosity continue to inspire young Nigerians to pursue enterprise and service to humanity. As he joins the league of nonagenarians, we pray that God continues to bless him with strength, good health, and long life,” the Governor concluded.

Sir Kessington Adebutu, a revered entrepreneur and philanthropist, remains one of Nigeria’s most celebrated figures for his enduring impact in business, community development, and humanitarian service.
