Ayu has no power to stop any candidate – Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has once again insisted that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will not survive the consequences of retaining Senator Iyorchia Ayu as its national chairman.

Speaking on Tuesday at the birthday celebration of his ally, Okezie Ikpeazu, the Abia State governor, Wike said: “You go and march soldier ant, anything you see, you take.

“All these things they are talking…we are just peaceful, they came to march us, then the soldier ant has entered everywhere, and now they are crying, they have not seen anything.”

He added: “People see the problem and cause it for themselves. All I have said is ‘live and lets live.”

Wike told the audience what Governor Ikpeazu told a PDP emissary in one of their meetings in London about a biblical story of a sinking ship and Jonah.

The governor added that the PDP ship will sink if Ayu remains in office.

Wike had earlier on Tuesday endorsed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state for second term, in a move that shows that he is gradually moving away from the PDP.

Aside Ikpeazu, other governors like Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Uguwanyi (Enugu) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) are on the same page with Wike.
