The House of Representatives on Tuesday considered and approved N579.69 billion as the statutory budget of the Federal Capital Territory Administration for 2023.

The Speaker of the House, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, presided over the Committee on Supplies, which considered and approved the report on the budget.

Out of the figure, the sum of N78.13bn was for personnel costs; N122.51bn for

overhead costs; while the balance of N379bn was earmarked for capital projects.

The approval period covers January 1, 2023, to 31st December 2023.

Earlier, Rep. Abdullahi Idris Garba had moved for the consideration of the report on the budget during plenary.

The report had been laid by the

Committees on Federal Capital Territory Administration and FCT Area Councils and Ancillary Matters, which was on a “Bill for an Act to authorise the issue from the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Statutory Revenue Fund of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.”

It awaits the third reading by the House.
