Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is extending the frontiers of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through empowerment programmes that now span the country’s six geopolitical zones and impact millions of citizens.

Speaking in Lagos at the weekend, Rev. Sam Ogedengbe, former Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Christian Religion Matters, commended the First Lady’s initiatives under her flagship Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), describing them as groundbreaking in the history of Nigeria’s First Ladies.

He noted that the Lagos empowerment programme recently provided small-scale business owners, artisans, and traders with tools, materials, and start-up support, interventions which beneficiaries described as a lifeline for families struggling to keep their livelihoods afloat.

Beyond economic empowerment, Senator Tinubu’s projects also cater to education, health, and social welfare.

According to Ogedengbe, the RHI has rolled out scholarships for indigent students, health outreach programmes for women and children, support for persons with disabilities, and entrepreneurship training for youths.

These measures, he said, are strategically designed to reduce poverty, raise household incomes, and encourage self-reliance across the federation.

He further disclosed that the First Lady has forged a partnership with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, ensuring that her projects align with Nigeria’s commitments to the United Nations SDGs.

“Senator Tinubu’s impact reflects not only her compassion but also her deep commitment to governance,” Ogedengbe remarked.

“By directly empowering women, youths, and small businesses, she is laying a foundation for sustainable social and economic growth.”

Observers argue that the First Lady’s efforts are gradually transforming the Office of the First Lady from a largely ceremonial position into a driver of tangible national impact.

Her strong alignment with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, they add, continues to build public confidence in the administration while reinforcing prospects for continuity in governance.
