Qatar 2022 CAF Qualifiers: Super Eagles draw Black Stars in final playoff

The draws for the last phase of the CAF qualifiers for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was conducted in Yaounde on Saturday, January 22, with the Black Stars of Ghana drawn to challenge Nigeria for the ticket, Black-Stars have a rivalry with the Eagles dating back to 1950.

The draws for the last phase of the CAF qualifiers for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was conducted in Yaounde on Saturday, January 22, with the Black Stars of Ghana drawn to challenge Nigeria for one of the five tickets, Black-Stars have a rivalry with the Eagles dating back to 1950.

The event compered by Mimi Fawaz had Emmanuel Adebayor and El Hadji Diouf helped in the draws conducted by CAF Head of Communication, Samson Adamu.

According to the qualifying system, the 10 teams were divided into 2 pots based on their FIFA ranking and a draw was conducted for the five ties.

The five winners will qualify for the World Cup.

Pot 1: Nigeria, Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia

Pot 2: Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali, DR Congo

Cameroon v Algeria
Ghana v Nigeria
DR Congo v Morocco
Mali v Tunisia

The top seeded teams will start mission away from home and host opponents at home in the 2nd leg, the confederation said.
