President Tinubu sympathises with victims, families of Kaduna bombing mishap

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, people and government of Kaduna State over the recent bombing mishap in Tundun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.

The Nigerian army drone strike on Sunday killed at least 85 civilians; however, the army did not give any casualty figures, but local residents had said 85 people, many of them women and children, had been killed.

“The Northwest Zonal Office has received details from the local authorities that 85 dead bodies have so far been buried while search is still ongoing,” National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Tinubu, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, described the incident as “very unfortunate, disturbing, and painful.”

The president also expressed his indignation and grief over the tragic loss of Nigerian lives.

He directed a thorough and full-fledged investigation into the incident and called for calm while the authorities looked diligently into the mishap.

Tinubu also directs swift and comprehensive medical attention to surviving victims while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
