Polaris Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the development of Nigeria’s South-South economy with the commissioning of the new Everyday Supermarket branch in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The grand opening, held at Bay Bridge Junction along the Kpansia–Epie Expressway, marks the retail chain’s debut in Bayelsa and represents another milestone in the state’s drive to attract private investment and expand its business landscape.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Raphael Abaziem, Directorate Head, South-South, Polaris Bank, described the launch as “a celebration of partnership, enterprise, and shared progress.”

“This milestone represents more than the opening of a new outlet,” Abaziem said. “It reflects our shared vision for economic expansion, local enterprise development, and improved access to quality goods and services for the people of Bayelsa State.”

He noted that the new outlet builds on earlier collaborations between Polaris Bank and the Everyday Group, including the financing of the retail giant’s flagship complex in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, earlier in February 2025.

“When we partner, we empower. When we empower, we expand opportunities,” Abaziem added. “Polaris Bank remains proud to support Everyday Supermarket as it extends its footprint and continues to drive sustainable growth across Nigeria.”

In his remarks, Mr. Yemi Osindero, Chairman of Everyday Supermarket, expressed optimism about the group’s expansion into Bayelsa, noting that the brand’s success over nearly three decades reflects its commitment to quality service and regional development.

“Everyday Group is 28 years strong, with 15 outlets across the South-East and South-South — from Owerri and Asaba to Abakaliki,” Osindero said. “Our entry into Yenagoa marks another step forward, and we look forward to opening more stores in Bayelsa and beyond. Expansion plans are also underway for Aba, Benin, Uyo, Enugu, and Abuja.”

The launch of the Yenagoa branch, observers say, highlights Polaris Bank’s strategic role as a catalyst for enterprise development, especially in sectors that generate jobs, strengthen local supply chains, and enhance regional economic resilience.
