… Commends Sanwoolu, Obasa on Lagos Food Market Initiative
Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK) on Sunday announced the introduction of ARK DISCOUNT VOUCHERS. The concept, according to the lawmaker, is to complement the efforts of Lagos State Government in making cheap food items available to the people of Ikeja Constituency 2 under the Lagos Discount Food Market initiative tagged “OUNJE EKO”.
The vibrant, brilliant and ranking legislator made the announcement today when he visited the Ikeja Centre of the project at Tokunbo Alli Primary School, for an on-the-spot assessment of the procedures.
It is instructive to note that, Hon. Kasunmu was the brain behind the relocation of the food market from the initial site to Tokunbo Alli Primary School, which is considered as more central and more convenient for the people of Ikeja central.
Addressing the Media at the venue, Hon. ARK (as he is fondly called by his Constituents) , commended the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the speedy and effective implementation of this program, which is aimed at making life easier for the people of Lagos State, especially at this critical period.
He also commended the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Obasa under whose leadership the House of Assembly passed a resolution calling on the Governor to make food palliatives available for Lagosians.
Hon. Kasunmu Introduces ARK DISCOUNT VOUCHERS
Speaking further at the venue, Hon. Kasunmu said:
“In my capacity as the Legislator representing Ikeja Constituency 2, I will be making available 1000 units of *ARK DISCOUNT VOUCHERS* to the members of my Constituency, this is to compliment the 25% discount already made available by Lagos State Government. What this means is that, with ARK Discount Vouchers, you have N1000 free in your possession, to support the payment for the items you bought.”
“For a start, I will be making 1000 units of the Vouchers available on the basis of 500 vouchers for Ikeja LGA and 500 Vouchers for Ojodu LCDA.
The ARK Discount Vouchers will be available at Ikeja and Ojodu centers from next Sunday (24th March 2024) on first-come-first-serve basis”.
Hon. Kasunmu arrived at the Ikeja Centre at about 1.30pm and was warmly received by Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya and his Information counterpart, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho with other officials.
After Inspecting the facilities on the ground, as well as the quality of food items on display, Hon. Kasunmu expressed satisfaction at the smooth take off of the program.
The Deputy Majority Leader, later joined the queue to participate in the purchase of the purchase of food items, in what was applauded by most people present as a “show of leadership by example”
To complete his on-the-spot assessment mission, Hon. Kasunmu also visited the Ojodu centre for the program located at Ojodu Grammar School inside Babs Fafunwa Millennium School premises.
He was received on arrival by the CDC Chairman, Mr. Segun Fayemi and other stakeholders.
Addressing his constituents at the venue, Hon. Kasunmu commend the peaceful atmosphere and the effectiveness of the officials. He also announced, the introduction of ARK DISCOUNT VOUCHERS to Ojodu axis of the Constituency.
Five (5) of the vouchers were given out instantly to some lucky Constituents at venue. He also bought food items for some.
The Lagos State Discount Food Market continues next Sunday at the same Venues and will run for a minimum of four weeks.
Hon. Kasunmu was accompanied on the visits by his Special Assistant on Political Matters, *Comrade Seun Makinde* and members of the DML ARK MEDIA team.
