Oto-Awori Council Chairman commends Lagos State Government on issues of land

The Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori LCDA, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa has commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his role on issues of land grabbing.

The Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori LCDA, Prince Musibau Adekunle Asafa has commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his role on issues of land grabbing.

He gave the commendation  during the stakeholder’s meeting on ‘land grabbers and your  rights’ organised by the Ministry of Justice at Starjen Hotel, Okomaiko recently.

In his words, the State’s involvement and capacity to resolve issues pertaining land grabbing and the rights of the people cannot be quantified.

Citing the most recent incident in Etegbin, the Council boss noted with difference that people in that area should have no fear as the State Government will resolve all that concerns the situation soon.

In his opinion, anyone with the challenge of land matters should not take laws in their hands but seek the help of the appropriate quarters  amicably.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Khadijat Titilayo Shitta-Bay who represented the Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo S.A.N, the importance of the meeting is to share the intricacies with key stakeholders so that people can comply with the laws of the State.

She posited that the law which was passed by the House of Assembly has reduced the activities of land grabbers in the State.

‘The position of the law is clear, the awareness is there, anyone who is found guilty in the process will be dealt with by the application of the law”, she said.

Present at the occasion are Obas, Baales, Community leaders, House of Assembly member representing Ojo constituency ll, Hon Surajudeen Tijani and sundry.
