The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has penned a heartfelt remembrance tribute in honour of the late former Council Chairman, Hon. Oladotun Olakanle, who passed away exactly one year ago.
In an emotional statement released on Sunday, Hon. Adebanjo described the late Olakanle as “one of Onigbongbo’s finest sons”, whose humility, sincerity, and dedication to the progress of his people left an enduring mark on the community.
“Today marks one year since Onigbongbo lost one of its finest sons, Hon. Oladotun Olakanle. For some, it may feel like a moment in history or just another date on the calendar. But for many of us, it remains a deeply personal reminder of a man whose humility, sincerity, and unwavering passion for the progress of his people still echo through our hearts and community,” the statement read.
Hon. Adebanjo further described the late chairman as a unifying figure and a symbol of service-driven leadership.
“Hon. Oladotun was not just a leader; he was a bridge between the people and hope itself,” he said.
He added that although the late leader may no longer be physically present, his legacy continues to inspire the current administration’s vision for a united and progressive Onigbongbo.
“Though he may be gone, his legacy continues to inspire those of us who share his vision for a better Onigbongbo, one built on unity, compassion, and service. May his memory remain a light to guide our path and a reminder that true leadership is measured not by how long we live, but by the lives we touch,” Adebanjo concluded.
