In a bold move to strengthen democratic participation and boost voter turnout ahead of the 2027 general elections, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, convened a Stakeholders’ Meeting on Voter Registration at the Combo-Hall of the Lagos State Television (LTV) Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.
Strengthening Grassroots Democracy
The high-powered meeting brought together local government chairmen, political leaders, market executives, and community stakeholders from Ikeja, Ojodu, and Onigbongbo LCDAs — all united in one mission: to mobilize eligible residents to register and collect their PVCs.
In his keynote address, Faleke emphasized that voter registration remains the foundation of every democracy.
“All hands must be on deck. We must return to our communities, encourage every eligible resident to register and collect their PVC,” — Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke stated.
He revealed that the stakeholders’ meeting will now be held quarterly to review progress and strengthen coordination ahead of the 2027 polls.

Expanding Development: “Light Up Ikeja” Project
Highlighting ongoing infrastructural projects, Faleke announced the next phase of the “Light Up Ikeja” initiative, which will add 1,000 new streetlight poles across major streets within the constituency.
He also pledged a logistics support fund to back voter registration and mobilization campaigns — noting that disbursement will be based on measurable impact across wards.
Faleke particularly commended market leaders and the Iyaloja-General of Ikeja, Onigbongbo, and Ojodu for their consistent grassroots mobilization efforts. He equally applauded Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, for his documented record of newly registered voters.

Unity, Collaboration & Shared Purpose
In their goodwill messages, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku (Ojodu LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo (Onigbongbo LCDA), and Comrade AKOD (Ikeja LG) reaffirmed their dedication to ongoing voter sensitization efforts across wards.
Also present were Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, Member representing Ikeja Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, and Barr. Babatunde Ogala, SAN, who both stressed the importance of unity and voter awareness in consolidating the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s dominance in Lagos.

Interactive Session
The meeting concluded with an interactive session where stakeholders exchanged ideas on deepening grassroots voter education, mobilization, and political inclusion ahead of the 2027 elections.
