The Ojodu Local Council Development Area has continued its drive to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery, as the administration of Hon. Segun Odunmbaku on Thursday expanded its weekly geriatric medical outreach to residents of Ward F.
Elderly residents gathered at the Gabovies Centre, where they received comprehensive medical attention under a well-coordinated programme aimed at improving access to preventive and primary healthcare.
The outreach recorded impressive turnout, with senior citizens benefitting from a wide range of services including medical consultations, nursing care, physiotherapy, vital signs monitoring, nutritional assessment, medication support, and ambulance services for referrals requiring advanced care.
Now running consecutively across all six wards of the LCDA, the geriatric outreach initiative is part of the council’s broader health agenda to support elderly residents—many of whom face mobility limitations and financial barriers in accessing regular medical care.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the council chairman for prioritising their well-being. The CDC Chairman, Pastor Segun Fayemi, also lauded the Odunmbaku-led administration for its community-focused and compassionate approach to governance.
Speaking on behalf of the Council Chairman, the Councillor representing Ward F, Hon. Abbas Abiodun Bismillah, noted that sustained medical attention remains crucial for early detection and management of age-related health conditions, thereby promoting healthier living among senior citizens.
