The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has reinforced his administration’s commitment to innovation and youth development with the successful hosting of a Digital Skills Graduation and Empowerment Ceremony held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Council Secretariat.
The programme saw 150 participants graduate from a comprehensive digital training initiative designed to equip them with relevant, future-ready skills. The initiative has been widely hailed as a strategic investment in human capital and grassroots digital transformation.
The graduands underwent intensive training in key areas such as digital literacy, social media and digital marketing, cloud computing, cybersecurity awareness, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence. Delivered through a hybrid learning model, the programme combined flexibility with hands-on practical exposure, ensuring participants gained industry-relevant competencies.
Addressing attendees, Hon. Odunmbaku commended the dedication and resilience of the participants, noting that the initiative marks a transition from basic ICT education to advanced, specialized, and income-generating digital skills. He also highlighted ongoing efforts by the council to expand access to technology-driven education, including the training of thousands of pupils and the transformation of the Sogunro ICT Centre into a modern digital hub.
In recognition of outstanding performance, five top graduands were awarded laptops, underscoring the administration’s commitment to supporting excellence with practical tools for success.
Dignitaries and stakeholders at the event praised the initiative as impactful, inclusive, and forward-looking, describing it as a model for grassroots digital empowerment.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Funmilayo Layeni; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Abdulsalam; the Leader of the House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira; alongside councillors, supervisory councillors, traditional rulers, and community and party leaders.
