The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has announced a temporary review of the council’s revenue collection process.

The Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has announced a temporary review of the council’s revenue collection process.

In a statement released by the council, the chairman said the administration is set to fully digitalise and streamline revenue collection in line with its commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient service delivery.

The reform, he explained, is aimed at blocking revenue leakages and ensuring that all payments are properly documented and remitted.

Hon. Adebanjo stressed that official revenue collection will only begin after a formal public notice is issued.

Once the new system becomes operational, all payments will be made into a single, designated government account, details of which will be publicly communicated.

Residents, business owners, and other stakeholders have been strongly warned not to make any form of revenue payment to individuals or private accounts at this time, particularly during the months of January and February. The council advised the public to disregard any payment demands made within this period.

The chairman assured that by March, the public will be adequately informed of the approved payment methods, official channels, and the commencement date of the new digital revenue system.

The Onigbongbo LCDA administration thanked residents for their patience and cooperation, noting that the ongoing reforms are designed to build a more transparent and efficient revenue framework that will benefit the entire community.
